International Established Doula Certification Packet (Purchase 1 of 2)

ARE YOU AN ESTABLISHED DOULA WHO NEVER BECAME CERTIFIED?

Per Natural Resources All Families Foundation, an “established doula” has worked with a minimum of 25 families as a birth and/or postpartum doula within the past 5 years.

As you may have heard, hospitals are now regularly requesting proof of certification to ensure birthing people are working with individuals who are knowledgeable about current birth, postpartum, lactation, and newborn care practices, and many insurance companies are requiring certification for coverage of doula fees. Requirements for recertification every 5 years are becoming the standard. As a result, more families are looking for a certified Doula to support them in the birth and postpartum period.

In order to provide a full scope of support for the doula community, Natural Resources is offering a InternationalEstablished Doula Certification Program. This will provide doulas in need of certification with a clearly defined path to continue serving families under new and evolving guidelines set by hospitals and insurance agencies.

CERTIFICATION PROCESS

1. Purchase thisCertification Packet (fee is non-refundable).
2. You will receive a download explaining the process and requirements, with links to the material required to submit your Certification Application.
3. Once you have completed all the requirements, purchase the Certification Application to submit payment for the application processing fee. You will then gain access to the submission portal.
4. Submit requirements.
5. Your application will be reviewed within 30 days.
6. Your Certificate will be provided.

Re-certification is required every 5 years. Expedited review MAY be avaible for an addtional $75 fee.

All the required items to submit for successful completion will be in the packet you receive after purchasing. Here is a general overview of requirements:
– Proof of Doula Training Completion
– Proof of current Adult and Infant/Child CPR & Safety Certification (must maintain certification)
– 4 Professional Recommendations from professionals in the birth, postpartum, and/or newborn care field (This may include Doulas, Educators, Midwives, OB/Gyns, Pediatricians, IBCLCs, and other perinatal or allied professionals)
– Proof of 15 Professional Development hours that have been completed in the previous 5 years.
– Provide 3 one page Book/Film reflections
– Provide Client Evaluations and Doula reflections from 6 clients supported within the last 5 years.
