    If you have a baby on the way we strongly recommend that you complete your prenatal education no later than your 36th week of pregnancy. If you chose an offering that occurs after the 36th week and baby arrives at 36+ weeks credit or reschduling may not be available.

    This course will empower parents and caretakers of infants from birth to one year of age to more effectively prevent, assess and respond to illness, accidents, and cardiac and breathing emergencies.

    Instruction for this class meets the latest guidelines for CPR and emergency care established by the American Heart Association. These new guidelines, established throughout the industry in 2020, are designed to make taking action in an emergency faster and easier than ever.

    Based on the model of Heartsaver Infant and Child CPR, this course is designed for the non-medical responder. Participants will receive individualized instruction and will practice skills with infant and child mannequins. Though this is a non-certification course, participants will receive test-ready instruction and other resource materials.

    Please Note:

    – In order to ensure that parents and caregivers receive optimal hands-on training, babies and children are not permitted in class.
    Each adult must register separately.

  • Dana Lazarovitz Thompson is an RN, IBCLC and certified CPR instructor through AHSI (American Health and Safety Institute). Dana’s CPR class is focused on helping parents and caregivers learn how to identify and respond to emergencies, while also learning how to prevent life-threatening accidents by understanding child development, and learning best practices. The class covers adult/child/infant CPR, choking-rescue, use of an AED and conforms to the 2015 AHA guideline update for CPR. The class is 2.5 hours in length and includes instruction and hands-on skills practice.
